Please, never be shy telling an author you loved their books.

It’s seriously what gets us through.

Okay, now I get it re: "K-Pop Demon Hunters".

That was a ton of fun. And man, the music's great!

This is a fascinating article. Keep it up, ICE Watch. And everyone else standing up.
For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

Take that, chapter 7!

For some reason I got stuck on this one for a few days, even though it's a fun chapter with three of my favorite characters on a road trip.

Sometimes you just have to go back to the start of the chapter and make yourself go at it, even if you're not feeling it...

Whenever I discover a new writer, I like to go right to their website to check them out. First, I like to compare their website to mine (and see if there are any tips or tricks I could borrow), and second, I try to figure out which book of theirs I should start reading. It can be tricky, because some authors are prolific as heck, and they also might have multiple series going on, some of which might be done, while others are ongoing.

Dang, it's been a productive year -- revised and rewrote the last 1/2 of a novel (Lost & Finders), finished a novel-in-stories that I started last year, and got about 1/4 of the way, maybe, on a new novel in my Finder Team series (The Finder Pack). More next year!!

Rolled over the 100k mark for new words written this year! It's been a long time since I wrote this much (I had a 5+ year hiatus from about mid-2018 to early 2024). So excuse me while I brag on myself! :)

Or maybe not... lol

Today is the go-live day for my historical and (hopefully) humorous (with a hint of the fantastic) novel Augie and Ozzy Take Back the Mountain!! This book was a lot of fun to write, even if it took me quite a while to pull it all together after my 5+ year long hiatus when I didn't write a THING. I wrote most of it while my wife was taking classes and doing the research and writing for her doctorate.

I guess the first step would be getting the title right in the email… they weren’t even close! lol
