It is sad. They're so beautiful, it's wondrous seeing the little feathers and how neat they are, I just wish it could also still be alive and flying about.

I buried him under a tree. Next year he'll be leaves, flowers and berries. Some day, he'll be a bird again, hopefully living a long, happy life in a more joyful world.
