Observer of the passing parade
Moving into bonds is a sign, he expects the stock market to crash and, bond prices will rise as money from stocks move into bonds for safety. Also, bond coupons are fixed, and if interest rates fall, these bonds are worth more. Trump's again compromised, because policy actions affect his portfolio.

For the Marines, this is ridiculous.

Traditionally, you don’t call the Marines bc another FedGov agency went full fash and bit off way more than they could chew in their sissy little mouths.

Traditionally, *this* is why you call the Marines:

The incursions by Russia were facilitated recently by Trump's retribution against Ukraine in denying them commercial satellite intel. Trump is getting Ukrainians killed, pawns in his power play against an ally. What kind of President kills people for spite and advantage, or easier so others do it?

Every day so far is just some version of “do we still have that one load bearing law that protects the system from abuse? Maybe not!”

Ringing in the New Year hits differently this year.

Trump and the advancing dementia make him suggestible for others to manipulate. As much as he rails, he's got those in the background shaping the anger. His judgment is suspect like starting a fight with Canada and Mexico. It's falling back on old habits and not diplomacy. We are seeing the fallout.

Fascism begins with a compromised Press, and gains legitimacy for their propaganda, when released uncritical to the public. this is what Trump is after from ABC and other outlets, to refrain from critical analysis, and just print his releases. We'll see how that goes in watching ABC.

And they say our Supreme Court is superior.

Once again the GOP House hiding from the public the truth of their MAGA membership. Politics to day is more about illusion than ever before, as our standards of behavior are discarded for political office. Its gotten to the point that those involved are burying their dirty secrets from the public.

Not crazy is a disqualifier for Trump, so suspect there is something else going on. Both are MAGA so it has something to do with their voter base. Each using each other to hold or in DeSantis' case build support. DeSantis under Trump as boss, all bets off for not acting crazy.

Money is being used publicly to influence governments as we're seeing today. It's as if the top 1% in wealth have decided to form a kleptocracy to increase control. With great wealth overwhelmingly creates great evil in democracies. Here in the U.S., we have the Supreme Court for their decisions.

Where does Trump find these candidates, under rocks? It goes more to him and his character with a distorted sense of personal qualities needed in filling the posts. it's as if he's valuing those with his traits which is a disaster for the nation. We're getting a Federal government led by misfits.

Modern media has disrupted societies because the rules in place over time have become obsolete with its evasive over consumption. It's been taken over by many hucksters, and others not interested in the effect on the public. Until better rules are in place, limiting kid's access is now warranted.

One of Trump's buddies, their minds think alike. Voters picked a winner with Trump, even after all he did before and leading up to the current election. As an electorate, we've gone backward towards irresponsibility for which our Founding Fathers were so concerned in our ability to govern wisely.

It’s the first and most important of the lessons @timothysnyder.bsky.social has imparted. Ignore it at your peril.
Many of us are echoing @timothysnyder.bsky.social's lesson in On Tyranny, "Do not obey in advance.”

A no less vital admonition that deserves attn:

STAND OUT

“...without that unease, there is no freedom. The moment you set an example, the spell of the status quo is broken, and others will follow."
