I’m surprised that Labour is now publicly doubling down on their changes to change to a system where they could hoover up money from union members unless they chose to actively opt out.

It’s not the kind of thing you should be bragging about! It’s not a “donation” if they wouldn’t want to make it!

Does yesterday qualify or does your object permanence not extend that far?

This feels like quite a drastic solution honestly

The Home Secretary wants to make reading Naval Publication 28 a criminal offence.

Aside from being totally pointless, this is a profoundly stupid idea.

I’m a stellar student apparently. Tell that to my French teacher!

If austerity caused brexit (which it didn't) then it looks like Labour have got some answering to do on that front there as well doesn't it.

I am really so tired of the false dichotomy pushed by the sensible™️ pundits that you either brown nose Trump like Starmer has or you “do a love actually moment”.

World leaders are managing Trump in sensible pramgmatic ways.

“There is no assimilation to American standards and ideals... Masses of human beings of inferior races, ignorant of all the ideals which Americans hold dear... they are not ‘digested.’ The new immigrant comes here as a foreigner and he remains a foreigner” - Stephenson Grand Dragon Indiana KKK 1923

Except that’s not actually why people voted leave. We know why they voted leave. They kept telling us.

There’s too much to post screenshots but here is Lib Dem immigration policy. I think it’s a pretty stark contrast from what Labour is trying to do! www.libdems.org.uk/manifesto

I think Lib Dem asylum and immigration policy is really good at the moment and is a stark contrast to what Labour are doing. There’s too much for me to screenshot: www.libdems.org.uk/manifesto

Mind if I ask which area you are in out of curiosity?

Lib Dem manifesto was to the left of Labour on wealth redistribution and that’s comparing both out of power

This has got to be among the most nakedly racist things I’ve ever read.

Who will be the next director-general of the BBC? Sooty.

If anybody is thinking about voting for Sarah Teather in the internal elections then please note the time she lead a campaign to stop development in London because the people living in it might be too transitory.

I’m not sure ‘leaving a passenger stranded on a dessert island’ really needs the caveat that the family said it.

Unless you’re a pirate ship undergoing a mutiny, leaving passengers to die alone is pretty clearly a failure by any metric. No?

I’m not quite sure why the editor thought it would be interesting to hear from the guy the trashed the public finances in a tax cutting bonanza nobody asked for. I’m sure the arsonists also have some interesting insights into how to sort out all those pesky fires.

This is a ward that I understand already has 2 Lib Dem councillors and a strong local party who put in a strong campaign.

Yes tactical voting exists, that doesn’t mean every time you can just ascribe that meaning to every change in vote share. It is such a superficial observation.
