For the latter, in my case, if they reached out to me about whatever book, I'd send them a free e-copy. I much prefer that than them getting it from a random website.

Thanks, Yolanda. It is kinda shitty it's already feels impossible to get on podcasts or the like as a unknown indie author to get on one and this BS happens.

Then, they refund my donation and said that since I didn't donate at their preset prices ($49-$85), they aren't going to publish the podcast. A bait and switch and overall total buIIshit.
No one should have to pay the interviewer for an interview.
Period.

After the interview, I did donate $5; which I'm aware is low but that's what I can swing at the moment. Plus, it wasn't mandatory to donate anyway, but I wanted to give something to the interviewer for taking time out to do it.

The images are pretty self-explanatory, but essentially I contacted a podcast to do an interview for the release of Companions. We scheduled a date and they mentioned that if I wanted to support the podcast financially, I could donate.
