I have never understood why people don't understand that vocally criticising their own "fatness" in front of objectively fatter people is an obvious implicit criticism of those people. It just is, even if they're not thinking about it when they say those things.

Yes, it absolutely does. I’m in Raleigh, where they were for one day this week before pulling out. There was a network of people who followed and reported them. They were clearly irritated because the attention interfered with them doing their jobs.

Honestly so glad I left the discipline to just go do actual empirical science (as opposed to imaginary or hypothetical empirical science).
