This was our original graphical abstract. It's interesting to me how the two graphical abstracts - both pictures of doors - convey such completely different emotions about leaving.

I actually administer the Epworth Sleepiness Scale to my students as part of their training in Experimental Design and Research Reproducibility.

I emphasize the impact of lack of sleep on meta cognition as well as cognition - i.e. we often aren't fully aware of it's effects on our performance.

So this just happened.

We're letting people who couldn't pass an Intro to Bio course tell us how to do medicine.
I'm ashamed and angry.

I hope the decision was made out of a desire to protect the identities of the current patients from subpoena.

Our reviewers also prompted us to dig deeper into the effects of recovery sleep.

We found that when recovery sleep was included in a study, it reversed many of the effects of sleep deprivation on gene expression.

These effects were expected, consistent, but typically not significant (FDR<0.05).

Our reviewers directed us to a large RNA-Seq dataset examining the effects of acute sleep deprivation on the cortex that hadn't been included in our meta-analysis (Diessler et al., 2018 (GSE114845): n=86 RNA-Seq samples from n=222 mice).

We were able to use this dataset to validate our results. 😍🎉

Another pic:
"Leather bound Munsey magazines - Munsey ultimately started one of the early pulp lines - they are $10 each, cheaper if you buy them all, date from the late 19th and I think early 20th century"

From my dad:
"There will be a small amount of original art - mostly under $50 - a wide mix of things, ranging from Little lulu to anime to panel cartooms, editorial cartoons, early childrens book illustrations, etc, a few pieces of superhero art at slightly higher than $100"
