UK is going to offer to replace Michigan in the B1G private equity deal just to beat the interest payment.

He also thrived in a now non-existent B1G West division. He would have been a good choice in 2010 but way less so in 2025.

They had one a couple years ago with a kid who made $1M off crypto currencies and I swear the 8th paragraph noted he got $500k in inheritance from his grandmother 5 years earlier. It's always treated as some coincidence.

As long as there are schools that think "I'll change him, he definitely won't leave ME for someone else", though, it won't matter.

Anyway, we aren't going to agree on this and he's not going anywhere this year but next season will probably define his tenure at Michigan so we'll know soon enough with him.
November 30, 2025 at 6:00 PM
Sure, but he's also the guy who can fire the special teams guy and get someone else. He's also the guy who hired the OC and can hire or fire the DC. I get you don't like Moore but blind doomerism ignores tangible good steps this team made.
November 30, 2025 at 5:59 PM
And the only reason they are the same ranking is because special teams cratered (from 17 to 125). Offense went from 94 to 50, defense hung around at 12 from 10. And their overall rating went up from 10.6 to 13.6. Again, Moore needs to change things but they didn't go 3-9 here.

Counterpoint: Losing 4 first rounders from that team, starting a true freshman QB and WR, and losing your best RB halfway thru the season and still finishing with the same opponent adjusted rating is, in fact, not the same team.

I was actually hoping Ole Miss would have made the SEC title game just so he'd have been forced to hold a meeting with them while, I don't know, an LSU lanyard holding his whistle.

They do this in sports all the time where they'll say "fans are up in arms!" and it links to an account with 15 followers and the tweet has 10 likes.

LSU governor: Can't beat Alabama or Georgia and can be stand offish with the media and fanbase, but I'm sure that'll fly in Baton Rouge.
November 30, 2025 at 3:06 PM
Especially when you still have a lot of work to do for this year. It's not like Ole Miss is going to be shipping off to the Cheez-It bowl. They've got winnable playoff games to prepare for while this goober wants to tell them why he's not the bad guy for leaving.

And for the record I prefer Wink just leaving, but I also remember Harbaugh hanging onto Brown two years too long because the top-line numbers weren't terrible.
November 30, 2025 at 1:07 PM
I think he doesn't want to be here but the NFL also isn't calling, so he's going to take his $3M for the year if he has to. I also don't think the next DC is in staff right now but you could see where they bring in a Ravens guy, for example, as co-DC with Wink for a year.
November 30, 2025 at 1:05 PM
Perhaps not as extreme, Florida since 2018, Clemson since Lawrence, hell LSU post Burrow had some rough patches.
November 30, 2025 at 5:17 AM
I mean, if Wink comes back it better be simply to groom the next guy for exactly 1 year. Wink made sense for Moore when he needed to get his feet under him but I'm done with an NFL guy who doesn't want to be there.
November 30, 2025 at 5:13 AM
Treading water is actually pretty impressive. Again, I'm not throwing Moore a parade but Dusty May flipping a roster of basically 10 guys every year is a different beast than portalling in football and Moore has done a good job maintaining a good floor on a sport where it can fall out quickly.
November 30, 2025 at 5:07 AM
Last year's team had 4 guys who were first round draft picks (I know Johnson went in the second but spiritually he was a first rounder) and two senior RB plus a lot of other guys. This year they had basically a completely new offense and lots of new faces on defense.
November 30, 2025 at 5:05 AM
A new DC or at least a major shakeup there and at ST will go a long way in my book.
November 30, 2025 at 5:00 AM
Oh absolutely. He's gotta show a step up in terms of overall program design and management. But I do think he's not as lost at sea as the vibes have become.
November 30, 2025 at 4:59 AM
Same flawed team but shinier record. And honestly, the teams in the teens of rankings all feel like that. Are BYU or Utah world beaters? Nope, but they played nobody in the OOC and so they just had to survive in conference. They are no more competitive against TT and UM was against OSU.
November 30, 2025 at 4:57 AM
It's what Texas kept arguing about after yesterday's game, and in a world where 10>9 that means more than I'd like to admit. There's a world where Underwood's first road game is Nebraska, they head into USC better prepared and either win or lose close, and they're in the playoff hunt now.
November 30, 2025 at 4:53 AM
I don't think Moore gets 5-6 years to figure it out given NIL et al., but he's shown a willingness to change and evolve and yet there's a subset of the fanbase (not saying you, but a lot of the 'Soup guys') desperate to fire Moore and hire Johnny Unbeatable based on just personal vibes.
