My pretty floofy sidekick Muriel. It’s hard to believe that I’ve known her for 8-1/2 months now. It’s harder to believe that she’d spent over three months in the shelter before that.

I’m simmering a pot of homemade soup on the stove while baking whoopie pies for a friend and banana bread to share at work. Fingers crossed the whoopie pies turn out alright! I’d hate to have to redo them. :-O

Just a reminder that checking on your friends who are flying solo (for whatever reason) over the holidays should *not* include a requirement that they confirm with you they’re doing the things (visits w/others, “special” self-treats, etc.) that will reassure you that they’re having happy holidays.

It feels like Saturday morning, except it’s super quiet. My loud-stomping downstairs neighbour is away, there’s hardly any traffic outside and there’s snow coating everything to absorb any sound. Both kitties are asleep. I love this!

I was taking a cab to the ANBL store to get a bottle of wine yesterday afternoon when the cabbie and I saw a guy wearing a Santa suit riding a motorcycle. We were going through an intersection and I didn’t have time to take a photo. He must have been freezing cold.
