FIFTY YEARS AGO I rode the Bullet Train from Shimonoseki to Tokyo. Smooth as glass, 200+ mph.

I find that 4-way stops in my neighborhood work well for people walking and are less confusing for people driving than flashing beacons and half-signals and various other signs that simply suggest you MAY have to stop if you notice someone walking.
