Bacon grease makes everything better
It’s Monday. I like Mondays. I’m rested. I’m motivated. I have a prioritized list. I’m ready to start the day.

My stomach out of nowhere: You’re going to throw up. Maybe now. Maybe later. Be ready. 😀

I’m going to journal about my feelings. My therapist would be so proud.

The Mavericks hockey game was so fun. We need to go more. What a great game.

Today is one of those days that I really miss Vyvanse. Sure I was manic 24/7 and heard voices, but my energy level was top-tier.

My child received a 3D printer for Christmas. I know fuck all about 3D printing.

The person who gifted the item said it runs with a laptop. I do not own a laptop. 😐

I’m going to shop for a computer. Is there anyone into 3D printing that can double check my choice?

I feel bad when I have to take away my cat’s tiny treasures that look like they could cause a bowel obstruction if she decided to munch on it.

You cannot have an itty-bitty sponge, Dorothy. I’m sorry.

When I was 17, I received a note on one of my essays that said, “I’m concerned about your use of commas.”

I do in fact, just sprinkle those in where I think they might go and I’ve been paranoid about it ever since.

It doesn’t help that 🍎’s talk-to-text also doesn’t know where a fucking comma goes.

My 16 year-old is out for her first solo drive with a license. Her and her friend are going to Target and Quiktrip. I know she’s hoping for someone in her class to see her driving solo. 😂

It’s going to be fine. Everything is going to be fine, but I’m still nervous.

I met my reading goal this year. 🎉

I made an effort to read more short story and novella collections. That was a nice change.

My favorite short stories were The Answer Man by SK and The Prepper by Morgan Talty.

My least fave short story was Life of Chuck. It had so much potential.

I don’t know about other Foods Shouldn’t Touch people but there’s always arbitrary foods that can touch and I hit the jackpot with four maybe it’s the carbs that unite them LOL

Oh good the nuisance neighborhood children received electric scooters.

One was wobbling down the center of the road toward me at a high speed. Yes, chicken is a wonderfully safe game to play. 🥴

The oldest kid cannot be more than 11. I don’t understand why parents are still buying these for kids.

I chose to do all of my education modules today.

I’m going to need a cold brew to continue on.

When was I supposed to have my presents wrapped? Like what is the due date?

I was happily wrapping presents this afternoon and just discovered that these are strictly type B activities.

When are the type As doing it?

Tiffany & Co glassware at TJ Maxx. You don’t see that every day.

Going to make some little New Year gift bags for my coworkers.

I admit that I bought some cheap cutesy science themed things off of Temu.

Pulled out this badge holder from the assortment, and well you get what you pay for. 😂

TO BE FAIR, it’s in the product image on TEMU, I just didn’t notice.

Going to start making a PowerPoint of the utilities for my children.

I don’t know if Katy is on Bluesky, but I do know her dad used to present the family cell phone bill. 😂 Thank you for the inspiration, sir.

Do I turn on this heated blanket (with timer) regardless if I’m working from home or not? Yes.

Does she scream and grab the blanket when I move her from the seat? Yes.

Do I acknowledge that these are the repercussions of my own actions? Also yes. 😐

But she’s so cozy!

Does everyone’s teenage daughter refuse to carry a bag/purse with necessities or is this my own personal hell?

You need more than your phone and AirPods. I am not an on demand delivery service. 🫠

My purse “necessities” include a travel room spray, so I cannot relate 😂

It all started in 1955 with a misprint in a Colorado newspaper and a call to Col. Harry Shoup's secret military hotline. Shoup played along with the tiny voice who called, and a tradition was born. From the NPR archives.

I found a mouse this morning in my kitchen. I HAVE TWO CATS. What the hell?

I was able to yeet him out the door. That mouse had silky fur and a fat ass from eating the birdseed in my kitchen.

Doesn’t he know that I have things to do? I do not have time to chase his potential family around. Ugh

Time to take a break and pick out my med calendar stickers to wrap up the year. 😌I’m going back to themes each week.

My 2026 calendar is already on the way.

About to start putting flyers around work asking scientists if they have experience with a particular problem that I’m experiencing.

DO YOU WORK IN GENE EXPRESSION? CAN I BUY YOU LUNCH AND PEPPER YOU WITH QUESTIONS?

Met my first holiday Karen of the season.

I do not enjoy arguing with strangers, but this called for a public shaming.

Don’t tell a retail worker how to do their job and then double down by saying their coworkers, who are obviously busy, are “doing nothing.”
