Two things
1- Suda wasn’t involved with Barcelona that much, he came up with the original concept but that’s it. The AI implementation is on SWERY
2- according to the publisher, the AI stuff was inserted back in 2022-23 & has since been patched out. Still not great, but I wanted to give the context

Playing Silent Hill 2 classic before Silent Hill 2 Remake finally opened my eyes into how preserving the original versions of media is.
It's also why I'm more picky about remakes and why I treat video games as a proper art form now.
