Definitely go for it if you get the chance.

There's also a similar 3D remaster of ET, but I haven't seen it myself. Curious how that plays.

Avatar (and Way of Water) in IMAX 3D are still the best pure spectacle movies ever made.

There's only a handful of effective 3D movies, but they really make me appreciate the format.
- Coraline
- Jaws (50th anniversary re-release, the open water shots are UNBELIEVABLE)
- Jackass 3D

the entire movie is just wind, rain, and trucks bouncing over rough terrain! the ultimate 4DX experience!

I'm hoping Avatar: Fire and Ash has some good 4DX shit. Cameron seems to be hands on with every single format release.

Another example of this was Disney's Jungle Cruise movie (the seats actually move like a boat on the water!) - but that's more of a 1 star film getting boosted to a 3.5.

Twisters in 4DX is maybe the most a movie has ever benefitted from the format. I left the theater recovering from light whiplash, amazed that they'd successfully made a great sequel to Twister.

Then I watched it again on a normal TV, and it lost a full three stars on the Letterboxd rating.

Kid (very quietly!) asked questions of his Dad the whole time, which was cute. Dad replied in whispers, short answers about Star Wars lore.

When Luke vanishes at the end, the kid asked his Dad "what happened?" - and the Dad, equally befuddled, just responded "I... don't know".

The Last Jedi - I was next to a father and his son (maybe 3-4 years old?) who had never been to a movie before. Kid was so tiny he couldn't even keep the seat weighed down.

I was a bit worried at first, but this kid was on his absolute best behavior.

Except they don't own the studio that made the game people liked.

This is going to be "We've got Larian Studios at home".
