Burnout is caused by more than high workloads and lack of control. Other causes include community and a values mismatch. Lawyers are far more willing and able to work unlimited hours when they believe in the values of their firm’s leadership. hbr.org/2019/07/6-ca...

Yikes. What kind of proof would be required to argue transportation was in aid of an abortion? In considering the consequences of declaring a "sanctuary city" for the unborn, is anyone else reminded of pre-unification West Germany's abortion policies?
Apparently anti-abortion activities are now pushing ordinances that would make it illegal to transport anyone to get an abortion out of state on roads within the city or county limits, and highway checkpoints to enforce those ordinances.

@qjurecic.bsky.social does a nice job contextualizing the current crisis via Watergate: "Later, testifying before the Senate Watergate Committee, Dean recalled his astonishment at the realization: “How in God’s name could so many lawyers get involved in something like this?”"

Twitter under Elon Musk ownership has played a major role in allowing Russian propaganda about Ukraine to reach more people than before the war began, according to a year-long study released this week by the European Commission, the governing body of the European Union.
Musk’s new Twitter policies helped spread Russian propaganda, EU says
A study commissioned by the European Commission found that “the reach and influence of Kremlin-backed accounts has grown further in the first half of 2023, driven in particular by the dismantling of Twitter’s safety standards.”

Trans people are under attack, with government laws that take away their rights. For some, the pushback against that hate is the problem. “Compromise” is needed, and “aggressiveness” is a problem. This is a dangerous path, and I address it at Law Dork.
