Fun fact: Did you know that Arlington is one of seven Texas cities that have comprehensive non-discrimination ordinances for LGBTQ+ Texans? Just 14% of Texans live in cities that protect them. Dallas and Austin have them. Houston does not! www.lgbtmap.org/equality_map...

Basically, Republicans want to curb the power of Texas cities in any way possible. Now that they've passed tons of anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ+ bills, they want to force cities to essentially comply with them and remove any possible conflict between state and local laws.
