Reminds me YouTuber Perun's quote about why people tend to avoid using nuclear weapons. A) Because everyone would die, and b) because the economy is better when everyone isn't dead

Generally immigrants are young, motivated, ambitious and have valuable skills. Exactly the sort of people we want more of.

I seriously think this is correct. Companies should be required to ensure that to the best of their ability the bots frequently identify themselves as non-human. They should not attempt to be your friend.

In particular a future where pro se litigants can generate mediocre complaints at close to zero cost does not seem to me like a future where billable hours are inevitably reduced

I’m not sure why humans would be radically impoverished, in the long run, by use of GenAI. Labour-saving devices tend to just move people into other tasks (or other industries) which the machines still can’t do, while making everything cheaper.
Lots of disruption, but not permanently.

The problem is AI is a good productivity tool which is deceptively hard to use. The people who get the best out of it, and avoid its usual pitfalls, are domain experts who also understand AI specifically.
But that’s harder to market than ‘machine which does anything.’

The default feed is tilted not just to the right-wing but to the extreme, fringe right.
Robinson is so extreme that even Farage, who was considered beyond the pale a few years ago, is careful not to be associated with him.

I have mostly stayed off Twitter over the last 1-2 years, but a few months ago I for some reason made a default account there which wasn't following anyone/not followed by anyone.
I am based in the UK.
First post in my feed: Musk. Pathetic, but not surprising.
Second post: Tommy Robinson rally.

Good old Hellraiser
For me her songs break down pretty evenly into terrible, catchy but stupid, and actually good.
I suspect that eventually people will only remember the better ones, and she will be regarded as a good artist overall.

In my view TS is capable of writing good songs but often doesn’t.
The two main reasons are a) she’s too big to fail, b) the general public can’t tell the difference.
