I think it would be better if we had like six months of cooldown time for people to not care anymore so real (even new!) fans could have a good show together haha.

The brushes are beyond repair and clatter like so many bones at the bottom of my trunk. The two inch brush I used on my new house primes a dusty canvas. I don’t blame myself for seeing potential through the gunk. Art answers my wrist faithfully. We give to each other. I love my paintings.

I dug my brushes out to try to salvage them. I pushed soap into unyielding bristles. I worked my fingers with all the trust that let him through the door the day he raped me.

I kept the latter as an example for my teaching portfolio so for a minute as part of the lesson plan. If only so future teachers could see “split infinitive? awk :/“ alongside “that doesn’t rhyme.”

I created an assignment a few years ago for students to print out the lyrics to their favorite song to bring to class for their classmates to trade and annotate for style, form, theme, message, etc. and the most marked up ones were a Lil Dicky song and a Taylor Swift song.
