I'd be willing to consider trusting them as allies if they depose their clown in chief and his ilk - and keep a stable government embodying democratic attitudes for 20 years without faltering.

Right, but I get to listen to that now, and also a bunch of newer stuff, some of which is great and in my opinion also better, though I still listen to lots of music from past decades and in some cases centuries.

But seriously, it is a tragic thing that people turn their back on science and reason, and run into the welcoming arms of the horseman of pestilence, and their children often pay the price. Weakening herd immunity, others too may pay it as well.

I had the horrible knee-jerk joke response to this in my head.. That what with the idiotic decisionmaking that led to this, the quantities of moonshine probably imbibed in the community, and how loud they seem to be - would we even notice the effect?

My best friend was able to drive us to my place next day as we had no food at her place and everywhere was closed.
They drove almost 2 hrs on short notice in hellish weather to help us. Gave them a handsome reward for that.
All ended well but never again thx.
