This guy is a doctor, right? Or a medical guy of some kind. That's a lab coat and a stethoscope hanging around his neck, yeah?

That's weird.

This is a crap essay, but there was a grading rubric, and it should have been applied. I don't see how this gets anything less than 10 points, and I can see a case for giving it 25 points.

Write better rubrics.

I couldn't find my TTRPG books. I hadn't seen them in months. I looked all over. I'd written them off as lost.

Yesterday, my partner reminded me that a couple of months ago, we'd moved a particular bookshelf from one room to another. Apparently, that's all it takes for me to forget a thing exists.

These are from the cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois. There was a period of time when my kids were little where we enjoyed walking through cemeteries and gawking at the headstones.

My "Popular With Friends" feed hasn't updated in 14 hours.

What does it mean, do you think?

Took the 60 bus
Out of downtown Campbell
Ben Zanotto, he was on there
He was waitin' for me

All the punk rockers
And the moon stompers
Are out on the corners
Where they're sparin' for change

The earth star. I actually found one of these for this first time this fall.

Nah. Tampax was founded and run by Gertrud Tendrich, a woman.

It should not come as a surprise that innovations in this area were developed and pursued primarily by women.

I'm lead to believe that the 1st Tampax tampon did, in fact, use a material that had been designed for wound dressing. But it was designed and patented as a tampon.

So ... when my kids were little we'd take them out for steamed dumpling & chicken satay. They loved it.

One day we went to a diner.

The special was "chicken & dumplings."

My kids both asked for it.

When it arrived at the table, they wept.

I really don't know why this isn't made more of. I think about it all the time. I just can't unsee it.

hmm.

When I was a kid, I obsessively played Ultima III. A few years back, I replayed it using a DOS simulator.

It is a pure metroidbrania game as defined here. It worked circa 1986 b/c players had no alternative but to interrogate the game.

When my little one as 8, his teacher told him he could wear a costume for the school's Christmas music program.

He decided to dress as a vampire.

(Yeah, I know vampires wouldn't wear a cross, but it was his costume.)

You can disable these, at least temporarily. Here's how:

Put a hand near the top of the robot and tip it backwards.
Pivot it around 180 degrees.
Release so it's now facing the opposite direction.
Walk away while it sits there beeping to itself.

Pigs are fantastic. I have two; they're not pets exactly, but they're not livestock, either. "Pasture decorations" is the term I prefer. They're gonna grow old here.
