We also should shortly get a scheduling order in the new state court case challenging New York's congressional map (court held an initial scheduling conference in the case on 11/7). I am assuming the plaintiffs will want to move fairly fast.

Then, before Thanksgiving, there will be preliminary injunction hearings in cases challenging new congressional maps in North Carolina and California (the latter subject to court approval of the parties agreed schedule).

As for who will hear the case: The case was assigned to U.S. district judge Josephine Staton (an Obama appointee). We're still waiting for the appointment of the other two members of the panel.

Gov. Newsom & the state defendants have agreed to a quick briefing schedule and a quick preliminary injunction hearing (subject, of course, to the court agreeing).
Newsom, et al. will respond by next Fri, 11/14.
Parties are asking for PI hearing to be between 11/18 & 11/24.
