Bluesky hack, if you go to my profile and click on the video tab you can ignore all my bullshit and just look at Tortoise videos. There's nothing else there, it's turtles all the way down. 🙌🐢
I have 500 followers and 3,200 tweets on Bsky so if just 16% of my output is tortoise pictures (which is consistent with randomised sampling see below) I have effectively posted at least one tortoise image or video per follower.

YouTube comments are weirdly unique in that nobody ever interacts with a BSky post from like 4 years ago but you'll regularly have someone read and reply to a YT comment on a video fro 10 years ago. As a fairly prolific YT commenter* I will more or less daily get notifications to this end.

Just remembered that Die Welle (2005) exists and that it was an incredibly prescient bit of cinema. Like, a lot of people probably need to learn that message real quick.

Transphobes are clowns. Absolute clowns. Someone copied the wrong citation then immediately corrected the citation in a second draft and Forstater is big mad*.

If you concentrate wealth and political power in an imperial core like the US or EU, then there are three fundamental outcomes: Either people move into the core, the wealth gets distributed out of the core or war on the periphery. Though, obviously, these are non-mutually exclusive outcomes.

Starmer went through the same 5 years of 'Appeasement didn't stop the N*zis and in fact just made everything worse' history lessons in school that the rest of us did, right? Like if you boiled down GCSE history to one sentence it's this point.

Imagine if all employment law rulings got the level of reporting that Transphobic employment law rulings got.

If Nigel Farage wasn't Nigel Farage he'd probably already have been kicked out of Reform over his racist comments in order to detract from Nigel Farage's racist comments.

Perhaps the biggest unspoken truth of British politics is that: Helping people into work is expensive and difficult and as such is a responsibility the State has abnegated for a generation or more. Cutting benefits* does not achieve this, indeed it has the opposite effect on a statistical level.

Re NHS Mental Health Review: If you want to get people into work and to stay in work accurate diagnosis of mental health conditions is a net benefit, undiagnosed, unmedicated, unwell people will not reliably remain in employment and will be no less unwell for the lack of a diagnosis.

Streeting seemingly still has his head in the sand over the recruitment/retention crisis facing the NHS if the long term degradation of pay isn't addressed. Pay needs to return to at least 2010 levels at a minimum and that's not accounting for the decline in conditions resident doctors are facing.

Hard not to link Russia's belligerence as a partial consequence of decarbonisation. As the EU uses less oil and (possibly more significantly) gas Russia sales diminish, by provoking EU armament Russia drives up the prices of their remaining fossil fuel assets even if it's not the EU that's buying.
