But surely the fact that we HAVEN'T been relegated for 70 years despite everything, or like Sunderland, been largely the whipping boys of the PL up until now, tells you that our team has even more resilience, or their club's been a far bigger shit show than ours?

The league is mad this season. Any team in that middling bunch are capable of beating each other. But from a Blues perspective, we just have to keep taking each game on its merits. I look at Villa and see an example of what WE could achieve within a year or two.

You're spot on. We're turning into a pretty decent team. Our direction is clearly upwards. I'm excited to witness the progress and go not have the nail chewing anxiety underscoring every game.

48 teams has really devalued it anyway. Too many pointless or 1 sided group games. It's being turned into another Trump ego show. I hate it already. Really not sure how much of it I can be arsed to watch.

I'll third James Ellroy being fkn fantastic. Most of his revolve around real events and youre never quite sure where fact stops and fiction starts. Plus he's a sweary fker. The unrelenting short sentences do take some getting used to. His writing slaps you around the face.

I loved this, and I must listen to it again immediately. Yet I remember it being criticised for being too polished and overproduced at the time. Gawd knows why.

He used to help run a boys' Sunday team. Remember seeing him several times at Barnfield (now Bill Shankly) playing field when I was a kid.

Which is how it should be. It's much more interesting like that, rather than the monotony of 1 or 2 horse races, seeing as even the top 3 are pretty close.

Petulant and selfish IMHO, but he'll have enough credit with RS supporters to get away with it, even though he has sabotaged them in a big way. If I was Uncle Fester, I'd make him train with the U21s. Impose my authority.
