It's not efficient traffic flow if it's illegal and dangerous!

Lowering speeds would save lives, but of course we can't do that, so a few deaths here and there is just the cost of doing business. (5 km/h isn't necessary, by the way, 30 km/h is all it takes to achieve this)

Dave Meslin's book radicalized me against public advertising in general (abolish billboard and transit vehicle wraps) but this is particularly egregious

What!!

We think of small towns as hopelessly and irredeemably car-dependent. We could instead RETVRN to walkable, moderately self-sufficient communities with good transit connections to neighbouring communities, like how my hometown was 40 years before I was born.

I can't find the actual speech but I did find a Word doc with nothing but these photos which I think explains it pretty well

13-year-old astronomy nerd me thought "It would be great if we could see the night sky in cities" and did some research and learned that the downsides of tackling light pollution are actually upsides:
- saving money
- saving energy
- improving the health of people and animals

TWO!

1. Cyclists permitted to use leading pedestrian intervals & PXOs
Saves over a million $ of cycling budget on signals & eliminates needing council approval for so many cycling things.

2. Permit bidirectional cycling on all 1-way local streets, ala Paris.

Both make roads safer for everyone.

Title text: "They really shouldn't let those small cars drive in traffic. I worry I'm going to kill someone if I hit one! They should have to drive on the sidewalk, safely out of the way."

Take cars off every other (or every third, or every 4th) street in the grid. Add some bollards and make them resident, transit, & delivery access only. Boom, instant walking & cycling supernetwork at very low cost!
