Someone once told Leo he didn't deserve the life he wanted, that his presence always amounted to chaos, no matter where he went. He believed it, and it hurt because he felt that person was right. That stuck with him for a good chunk of 20 years following the death of his wife.

Whenever Leo was sad, he knew just the simple presence of his wife would cheer him up. Talking to her was the greatest gift he could have asked for. A hug from her was a blessing to him. That was was changed his mood from sad to relieved and happy again; the presence of his loved one.

I think Leo would be turned into a raven. Ravens are large birds, and Leo is tall. He would use his new form to his advantage, rather than seeing it as a punishment. Ravens and crows are known for their grace and accuracy, and that screams Leo to me. He's never missed a beat.
