The Lamorn artifact sent Samus, Sylux, 5 Metroids and 5 GF troopers to Viewros. Where were the space pirates?
An iconic Metroid enemy, completely absent after the game's opening. They could have added variety throughout?

Scanning the amiibo gives you voice lines, but why? Were these cut?

Off camera, Sylux took control of the tower and Psy bots, infected the key guardians with Metroids and then set off the green energy cannon twice, to create the green rain.
Why do we not see these things happen, or find out what his overall goal was?

Towards the end, Myles radios to tell you "everyone's gone to the mines" without a group assault on the mine having been mentioned before then.

Every key guardian boss has been infected by a Metroid, but for some reason we're never showed them being infected, nor are we told why they've been infected.
We actually never see another Metroid after the first boss battle, so why were they cut or not reintroduced?

When you give the Fire Chip to Myles, your first new shot, he says "you should be able to use another new shot type", but with the second shot type (Ice Shot) he sales "a new shot type".
Was the order you acquire the shots changed, but the wording left as-is?

Early on, Myles Radios to say "up to you to decide which [key] to go after first"
This is a lie, as you are met by obstacles at every location, requiring you to find the Fire Shot outside of Flare Pool get access to Ice Belt first.
Was the game intended to be less linear?

It's rare that I get to the end of a game and I'm left feeling like that, especially after Silksong and Dread proved that my expectations can still be reasonable after long waits.

It's a good game wrapped up in baffling decisions that kind of ruin the experience.
"Less than the sum of its parts" was right, whoever wrote that.
