Uh, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the barbgaunts are even more annoying to paint than the other little guys (source: I finished mine this afternoon after too long)

Welp, it's time for a stocktake of all the 40k armies I added to last year. Overall I'm quite happy, I hit my goal of 1k points of Tyranids by the end of 2024 (just!) and came within a tank hull of reaching 1.5k of eldar. The Imperial Fists remain my special boys though. #WarhammerCommunity
Red, black and white Tyranids army I've themed around infiltration and brain bugs. I discovered how much I like painting hormagaunts which bodes well... Yme-loc aeldari craftworlds army focussing on bikes and tanks. My first experiment with an army scheme designed to be quick to paint and look ok. Personally I only think it succeeded at the 1st part and a rejig might be in order in 2025. 5,000 points of space marines. The Librarius expanded rapidly over the past couple of weeks and the detachment's been a blast to run. I'm most proud of my upscaled assault terminators, looking forward to the rumoured new Lysander to go with them.

Well, the grotmas detachment gave me an excuse to add 2 more librarians to my collection. Rather happy with these guys, although I still can't paint lava bases. #WarhammerCommunity

I finally gave up on GW releasing new assault terminators so when the Leviathan sprues from Combat Patrol landed I had to have a go at making my own. I'm pretty happy with how they came out! #warhammer #WarhammerCommunity #nerdlings

A rejected concept for my hive fleet, although he's secretly my favourite one I did! I felt like a whole army would be too dark.

Finished my test model for a desolation marine squad, following Eons of Battle's conversion scheme to reduce the goofiness. The supporting hand needs some work but otherwise I'm quite pleased! #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

I just finished Gymkharnage by @janetorbeck.bsky.social and it's fantastic. Imagine if The Magic Faraway Tree was set in the world of The Laundry Files. Though come to think of it, that might not require too much of a rewrite. In any case, well worth picking up!

I think in terms of sheer fun it was creating a mini diorama of a techmarine awakening this leviathan to try and turn the tide!
