Or disciplines. Some fields just take a really long time to produce results. Learning to patch-clamp felt like crawling along, compared to my friends who were gathering vast amounts of data with sequencing.

And then hiring committees wonder why they can't find "good" electrophysiologists...

Ah, fair; I expect with more experience, you're less likely to second-guess whether the authors properly addressed some minor issues. But that was something I still struggled with after a year.

On the one hand, yes: I have never put a manuscript through more than 2 or 3 revisions, and almost always stuck to the decision made after the first round of reviews.

But I think full-time editors are also more likely to send a manuscript back to reviewers for minor revisions.

I've used Google docs for this, but it takes a bit of work to convert Zotero references in a word document into something that works on google docs (i.e., you can't just copy paste them in).

I have a BSc in Artificial Intelligence from 2011.

I still fondly remember learning to use SIFT for image recognition, which by then was already an old-school technique, as it had been around for more than a decade.

I love this! I must admit to having a large blind-spot for meetings not in Europe / USA, I really should try to address that.

A watermain broke near our building yesterday, so they had to shut it off for repairs today, which meant the fire-suppression system didn't work, so our entire building was closed until they could repair it.

Just one of those days.

Thank you! It's a custom implementation, but based heavily on the behavioural paradigms from Koen Vervaeke. E.g. using the same circuits for lick detection and water dispensing.

See that's forward thinking that is!

New behaviour setup is starting to come together though!
