It's almost like we're meant to live in our ecosystem(s) and not, you know, Mars.

"Army of Satan" sounds like a name some not-especially clever high-school kids would come up with for their metal band.

I'm using Gamemaker (2D game), and yeah, I think there might be more tools in Unreal and Unity to play with time, slowing it down or stopping it. All that has to be done manually in GM, which is kind of a pain 😅

I should do them early but always put them off. Having said that I do make sure things like pausing work from the start, even if I don't have the menu. Pausing is a surprisingly complicated process to get right, who knew?! 😅

Pause/option menus. There so tedious and I want to be like, "you can't pause this game or change any settings!" but obviously that won't work.

"You're making one right now."

(I don't know what I mean by that, but it sounds intriguing.)

Mid-range can mean a lot of things, though the claims that it was do 4k 60fps are encouraging - the question is at what settings. Unlike the Deck I think people will expect a lot in the way of performance here.

I miss Wireframe. But I'm glad you folks are around!

Oh man *everyone* had that Doors album. I still associate the band with the colour red.

Double-album CD boxes were kind of fun though. Agnostic of the quality of the CDs 😅

I make a point to never do this. In the old days I would photocopy the pages I wanted to annotate if I needed to do that. These days I usually work with pdfs so it's not an issue. I have OCD, which I am sure comes at *no* surprise 😅

I still remember times hitting the reload button compulsively in my browser waiting for Hotmail messages in the '90s, back before push notifications. My personal life is a bit less complicated these days, thankfully.

I used to be apprehensive about hardware mods until I started to see what the results such wizardry could produce, at least in the right hands.

I mean tbf if you know, you know, you don't need Google to find it for you 😅

Played this game a ton as a kid, I never realized until now that they somehow got Pedro Pascal to pose for the cover 😅

They actually did hold out a bit longer than most. The problem is the big shareholders, they literally (in the true sense of the word) scream at them to do whatever's cool at the time until they listen.

The Gamemaker Dummies book was also quite good. I'm always on the hunt for older titles where it's hard to get a good pdf, like the early Game Programming Gems. It's really interesting to see how things were done, way back when.

It's really annoying that they appropriated that Simple Minds song. It might be their best one!

So is the spear stabbing you, or just making it hard to steer? I'm having trouble piecing together the analogy 😅

Canadian here, we just have ERs as far as I know, they triage you there. Interesting that you have a Medium Place in the states for that stuff, actually sounds like a good idea though I recognize it's wrapped inside an evil system.
