Four episodes into Season 1 of
The Wheel Of Time on Amazon Prime, I accidentally started Season 3 (seriously, how bad is the UI?). All my issues with the show can be neatly summed up by the fact it took me nearly 3 episodes to realise that I’d inadvertently skipped two seasons’ worth of story.

Happy "Microsoft trying to force CoPilot subs" day in the UK for all who celebrate.

(They just pinged me my renewal notice with it carefully worded to sound like a compulsory general price increase).

1) Go to your account page
2) Hit cancel
3) Change sub back.

Thanks, Northern Power Grid. Nothing could reassure me more that “we are prepared for Storm Eowyn on Friday 24 January” than sending me an email about your readiness at midday on Saturday 25 January, dated Thursday 23 January.

The new sequel to The Combat Codes, the best/most ludicrous fantasy novel I’ve ever read, came out last month. If you read the synopsis and think “that sounds stupid but maybe it’ll be fun?” MY FRIEND YOU MUST GO EXPERIENCE THE TALE OF HOGWARTS FOR BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF PEOPLE IN ALL ITS MAD GLORY

That a dude with a couple cameras and a plate of appetizers can make something worth $82.5 million and a media company looks at that and goes "couldn't we make even more money if we had AI do it?" tells you exactly how stupid these people are
The $82.5 million sale of "Hot Ones" studio First We Feast is part of a broader strategy at BuzzFeed to shift away from human editors, writers and content producers in favor of artificial intelligence, which result in "high-margin, tech-enabled revenue lines."
BuzzFeed sells "Hot Ones" studio for $82.5 million as it pursues more AI-driven content
The company said the sale will allow it to depend less on human-created content in favor of "high-margin, tech-enabled revenue lines."

While @robertjenrickmp.bsky.social's proposal to deport Douglas Murray, Tommy Robinson and a number of Daily Telegraph/Spectator columnists may sound appealing, I fear it would almost certainly fall foul of the ECHR.

the frenzy over the hunter biden pardon is a good reminder that the press knows how to make something a scandal and has decided that nothing trump does is truly deserving of that treatment
