In this situation, I would just never order a pizza ever again.

The trouble is if you gave Holdo’s role to Akbar, you wouldn’t have the tension with Poe in his storyline. The audience would have sided with Akbar as an established authority figure.

YMMV on how well that worked of course…

I suspect that the influencers publishing successful books were successful influencers first, a factor now recognized by publishers as a fertile field to graze through (as publishers once kept an eagle eye on successful self pubbed authors to snap them up for trad pub). It's a cart/horse issue.

This fascinates me. I have hyperphantasia and I feel like that actually makes me underdescribe things in my work, as I see it all so clearly in my head.

I've spoken to aphantasic writers who are exactly the opposite, who need to describe everything in their work as they can't picture it.

If they are so upset about it, I have a great idea of what they can do to cheer themselves up, there is this guy Pagliacci...

Oh, wait...

Well done!

You can call me a sicko, but I love the editing part. Getting a first draft done is torture, but polishing and improving something just fires up all the spectrum-y neurons in my brain.

I am just starting out, but it seems to me that traditional publishing is a lot of stress and effort that outweighs the benifit, unless you are very very lucky.

Self publishing on my own terms seems far more attractive. I hope you feel better soon.
