I would describe them as melodic thrash. vocals are def not black/death style. Many of the lyrics are in maori. I really dig both their two most recent albums, Tangaroa and Te Rā.

"The Room" by Ostura (from Lebanon) is the best metal album I've ever heard, with the penultimate song "Duality" being one of my favorites.
I like the metal from Europe/Asia far better than American bands. Examples: Evergrey, Vanden Plas, Seventh Wonder.
