I think that one is about Arrian's dog Horme (which basically means zoomer).

This shit is why I love linguistics.

The internet is so fucked.

I completely pulled out of the market, there's literally no reason why a diversified index fund should have over a third of its value assigned to half a dozen companies.

My stepmom told me that if my prediction for a 30% drop in the S&P500 came true that it would ruin her.

Oh yea the title change is very suspect, and I'm very surprised you're not cited. Even The Register is citing you now, The Verge should be doing the same thing.

I hope the only similarity is the headline. It's one thing to plagiarize (and that's bad enough), it's another to plagiarize someone who does very original reporting that the mainstream rarely acknowledges.

A publicly owned company would not take this risk. Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft need to sell consoles for a certain price and sell a certain amount of games per console. Valve is okay with the possibility that someone might buy a SD or SM and never purchase a game ever afterwards.

The DF report touches on the attach rate for the SD and how Valve hasn't really reported on it, and that is probably because it's not good at all. But on the other hand, SteamOS and similar distros are keeping Steam very relevant in the long term, and that's hard to quantify I think.

Good to see Intel utilizing the tile system the way they said Meteor Lake would.

I was hoping DirectStorage would do alot for iGPUs, because the compression factor is 4 to 10 times, so you'd get up to 64GB/s on PCIe 4.0 drives and that's a ton for traditional iGPUs. Sad that it hasn't really panned out that way.

One benefit is certainly better Linux support for the older RDNA 3 architecture. And it's not like AMD can Old Yeller support like it did on Windows for RDNA 1 and 2.

Me and my wife have been trying to buy a house for like 2 years and it's such a freaking pain in the ass. After 2008 I guess they decided you can only afford a house if you can just about buy it outright. We pay more in rent than it would cost to have a mortgage.

This is either a lesson to buy really cheap so replacing isn't a big deal or to buy expensive so you never have to replace.

Could have fooled me.

Sorry who are you?

Should have let them abolish the filibuster then. If they didn't really think about what might happen after the 31st, it's political malpractice. Kaine and his fellow traitors are at best extremely incompetent.
