Maybe so, yes. I suppose social media is a lot more valuable to folks with sight disabilities than I had considered.

To be clear, I don't question the merit of the act for those it helps. I think maybe my point is that I hate how completely untrustworthy *acting on the internet* has become.

I worry that pressure to add alt text — in practice — does way more to create training data than to help people.
