New blog post tomorrow, assuming refreshed morning eyes don't spot anything wrong.

It's been a hot minute since I've written a post!

(And I really need to work on my theme - it's on the backlog as my professional alter ego would say)

I think I'm going to focus on #Python fundamentals on boot.dev during the work week.
I'm not sure I have the mental capacity to learn new content after a 10 hour work day. But we'll see how the week goes.

Just completed the course "Learn to Code in #Python" on boot.dev. It's pretty good!

There's definitely concepts that I'd like to practice before I go any deeper with Python - such as splicing.

Fortunately, the next course is "Learn #Linux" so I have some time to practice in the training grounds! ⚔️

My new thing is taking #PowerShell scripts that run serially and making them parallel, apparently.

Quite rewarding seeing the drastic drop in runtime.

Would you host someone else's small data centre if it reduced your heating bills?

I think I would. But I don't know if that's just because I'm a techie.

... I'm also assuming I'm not footing the electric bill.

Honey, I shrunk the data centres: Is small the new big?
Huge data centres are being built to handle AI computing but some experts say they aren't necessary.

I'd love to learn a programming language.

It's between Python, C# and Typescript.

I like the idea of explicit types but I do think it's going to be Python. Seems like a good place to (re)start.

My weekend win - I've automated #Azure #Entra app registration secret rotation for #Certbot (for Azure DNS auth) and #OpenWebUI OAuth.

No more manual rotations and rollouts!

I'm sure the story of GTA VI is going to be great but I'm actually not looking forward to the online mode.

GTA V's online mode is why I haven't played GTA since 2019. It's anti-fun and I wouldn't be surprised if GTA VI is the same a couple of years in.

Is hiking just walking but there's hills in the way?

I for one am quite glad the snow has melted.

Worked on a Hugo shortcode tonight so now I have info, warning and danger "banners" published to the blog instead of blockquotes with questionable CSS.

Hmm, I keep getting signed out of my Blue sky app on mobile.

It's taken quite some time but I finally have a custom Hugo theme.

It's pretty basic and there's certainly things I'd like to add but you've got to start somewhere!

If yesterday my goal was to sort my blog out today the goal is to actually republish it. The site is available internally on my network 🎉

Fixed my reverse proxy yesterday so now I have one less excuse to set my blog back up.

I have a shipping list of things I'd also like to do with tech today
- GitHub Actions for Kubectl
- Using Ansible to manage my K3S nodes
- An Azure project I've been working on...

But I think today is blog day.

Been watching T90's #AoE2 videos on YouTube and the nostalgia is hitting. Think I might play a game or two

Hmm.. I'm getting an error with #Azure #DeploymentStacks when deploying with -AsJob

Code=DeploymentStackInvalidDeploymentStackDefinition

The deployment stack must have either TemplateLink or Template property set.

I'm a little too tired to figure out if it's a me problem or an Azure problem...

To no one's surprise, UK newspapers are full of truly dreadful - and, at times, outright bizarre - "reporting" of the Climate Change Committee's new carbon-budget advice.

For a sane and nuanced summary – with lots of charts - here's our detailed coverage...

The cost of my standard #Nandos order has now crossed a threshold I told myself I wouldn't pay for.

I guess I'm having something else for dinner.

Got myself a treadmill for walking while working.

Enjoyed it so far! Even if my elevated desk is a motherboard box on top of an ironing board 😅

When I work from home I usually manage <1000 steps. How many steps will I manage to hit now that I can leisurely stroll while working? Lets find find out

I wish there was an alternative to Android and iOS. It's sad how the smartphone market converged into a duopoly
