Gillen played for a reorganized Keystone Club on September 10 in an exhibition against the Phillies. Two days later he gets a trial with the Phillies on September 12 in an exhibition against Trenton. This goes well enough that makes the Phillies' subsequent road trip. @justmckinney.bsky.social

The August 27, 1884 Sporting Life included this small note about the Phillies' lease for Recreation Park. It notes that the club has spent three seasons there, inferring that the club's existence started in 1882, not 1883 as is commonly thought today.

Yes. I believe exterior lighting design should take IDA's ROLAN principles (responsible outdoor lighting at night) more seriously. No need to light up the sky when we walk on the ground.
