I realize we were both fortunate and privileged in ways that others aren't and are never able to reach stability.

It doesn't have to be that way though. We could choose as a society to support parents and children. We have the means.

We waited until we were almost too old before we had kids. Also would have liked to have more but the clock ran out. Wanted to do it younger but we both came from nothing and had to spend a decade+ building careers and financial stability so our kids wouldn't grow up in poverty like us.
