Made NY strip with peppercorn sauce, a baked potato, and kale and onions. A nice tray of honey wheat rolls to go with it

Got the side wall built and finished the butcher block top. Need to hang another sheet of drywall and trim the front then paint. Coming together..

This bookshelf pony wall is coming together nicely! Still need to paint and add the side wall and the butcher block top

Got the three shelves assembled. I need to grab some brad nails to build the base and the butcher block will arrive Thursday. I'll need to paint off course but once the cuts and pocket holes were done it was just like putting together IKEA. It'll be three next to each other, I just stacked for space

Steak enchiladas with rice and beans and a corn Lima bean salad. The beans were all from the garden and I was trying to use them. The brand in sauce are orca beans and the lima grand and corn are both garden fresh

Tomatoes, Lima beans, orca beans, and the first of the peppers

Apparently sweet potatoes flower and lol but similar to my morning glories! Also got the largest carrot I've ever pulled this morning!

Well, the best looking apple fell off the tree. Still a bit early and small but I needed to grab it from the ground before a deer did. It took part of the small branch with it, so I think it's weight just broke itself off, still just the second year in the ground here

Managed to get ready and everything before the kids woke up. Nice relaxing avocado toast breakfast on the patio before getting them out the door

Steak with cowboy butter and mashed potato croquettes. It was pretty good, cooked the steak a bit too much and the potatoes could have been salted a bit more. Saw the recipe on Instagram and wanted to try it

I was planning just to make shrimp and polenta but the children insisted on steak.

Ended up making surf and turf! Shrimp with chorizo on polenta topped with green onions and parsley, with a NY strip steak and a side salad of cucumber, onion, parsley, and feta. The greens all came from the garden.

Harvested some beautiful orca beans this morning. Really regret only planting two of these plants. I did like no work and they grew very quickly

13 lb strip loin. Got about 9 lbs of NY strip, 15 decent sized steaks. Also about 2.5 lbs of cuts in going to grind for ground beef, and about 2 lbs of day I'm render down for tallow. Managed to cut my thumb open cutting the fat cap off, but I think I'll be ok

Thinned some carrots today
July 26, 2025 at 7:06 PM
Gotta use this squash somehow. I did the steaks in a cast iron skillet in tallow and rested them with a pat of butter and rosemary. Spuds turned out good too
