We are expecting our third child in less than a week so if cost I decided that today was a great day to order 4 yards of top soil to do a yard leveling project.

I'm not going to lie shit is bleak. The masked ICE agents downtown Chicago, the pending shutdown and promises of mass firing, the Sec Def/POTUS screen session this morning about fat generals and how the military should use cities as training grounds. I just can't. People voted for this. Why?

Got the side wall built and finished the butcher block top. Need to hang another sheet of drywall and trim the front then paint. Coming together..

I was looking for plans for an old woodworking project I did on an external hard drive backup of an old computer and instead found a draft of a children's book I wrote like from the NICU the day after my oldest was born IN BEAMER that I have basically no recollection of writing

Got the three shelves assembled. I need to grab some brad nails to build the base and the butcher block will arrive Thursday. I'll need to paint off course but once the cuts and pocket holes were done it was just like putting together IKEA. It'll be three next to each other, I just stacked for space

Well, the best looking apple fell off the tree. Still a bit early and small but I needed to grab it from the ground before a deer did. It took part of the small branch with it, so I think it's weight just broke itself off, still just the second year in the ground here

Managed to get ready and everything before the kids woke up. Nice relaxing avocado toast breakfast on the patio before getting them out the door

Steak with cowboy butter and mashed potato croquettes. It was pretty good, cooked the steak a bit too much and the potatoes could have been salted a bit more. Saw the recipe on Instagram and wanted to try it
