'Success' in the eyes of modern society does not always lead to happiness and contentment. In fact, happiness and contentment are the quintessence of success.
Play by your own rules.
I keep seeing this smirking little dweeb pop up in my timeline. And it's messing with my blood pressure.

Pah! You can prove anything with facts.
But Danny? Danny got HIS message directly from God. And that *trumps* everything.

I knew I shouldn't have continued a conversation with you. You're one of those people who thinks they've spent their life fighting the good fight, up there on the moral high ground, when actually, you're a bit of a nasty pos. I'll listen to my gut next time.

Well, that's not what we were talking about. And I was clearly referring to polling of support, or lack of it, for the doctor's strike. Maybe I'm influenced by having 2 family members going through cancer treatment.
For the record, I don't agree with the asylum rhetoric/policy. I'm just not tribal.

Yeah, that's the way, just completely homogenise and condemn a whole generation. Can't see the problem in that. Let's see if many people agree with you when the polling comes out.
I think I'll leave it there, apart from to suggest, with this approach to social media, you might prefer using X.

If you can't pay doctors? Don't be so daft. There's a perfectly good argument for pay restoration. It just needs to happen over a period. It's a process, not an event.

I know you don't mean that literally and I agree with your point. It'll be very low. Streeting is actually one of the few ministers who have a half decent story to tell right now. And going on strike after a sizeable pay rise while everyone in the country prepares for tax rises? Not a good look.

That's just it. You don't. You are THE public broadcaster. No other body shares your mission. Why add to the noise?

The BBC has an opportunity to say "you've heard all the breathless gossip - tune in at 6pm for the facts". To bring light rather than heat.

I'm trying to think of something relatively sensible and constructive to say, but 'what a sh*tshow' just keeps popping into my head instead.

The polling will be interesting. I think you will find yourself in the minority with this pov. I'm expecting public support for this latest strike action to be pretty low.

Imagine feeling like you can bring some 'nuance' to this kind of vile sh*t. You'd need to have a pretty black heart!

I enjoyed seeing Sam Coates get his nose put out of joint, as well. He tried to suggest Streeting was irritated when in fact it was he who showed signs of irritation, because Streeting was so successful in pointing out the pathetic nature of the Westminster tittle-tattle. In terms of media coverage.

There may have been bigger issues but, for me, this has been the straw that broke the camel's back. When Sky News gets Boris Johnson's sycophantic acolyte, Guto Harri, on to point fingers, I just think 'Screw it. A plague on all your houses!'
If the Beeb are going down, they should go down fighting!

Give her a break, she's not made of wood! I mean, who WOULDN'T fall for that winning smile?
November 11, 2025 at 9:26 PM
You're absolutely right, of course. And I couldn't agree more with the only sensible approach to that fetid cesspit of a platform.
(I used to be in a barber shop quartet called 'Fetid Cesspit'. We were big in the eighties)

Just wait till the 'Reformish Party For An Even Whiter Cornwall' offshoot get their act together. It's gonna be epic!
