I saw a screenshot the other day of someone saying, "Can you send me the no of your cleaner?" then a vcf of "kim cleaner" and the person was like, lol, nominative determinism and I thought, surely they've just ... saved them ... as Kim [the] Cleaner ... ??

jeez a red cabbage is a commitment though. slightly less than a quarter of it became Japanese pancake on Friday night. We’ve done science. We’ve done art. Another third has been pickled in apple cider vinegar with ginger, coriander, cumin, peppercorns and cloves. And there’s STILL a quarter left.

what I always notice when an American gets in on this conversation is that the fear of violent crime is *off the scale* compared to here— not just gun crime, but (armed) burglary & kidnapping too. Can never tell how much is wild overblown fears & how much is yes US is that much more violent.

And because they can't do that - no one can; it's absurd - we get this, "We expect everyone to follow the rules" sound bite. Which of course is the crux of it: there won't be any enforcement (there can't be), they just expect society to be transphobic enough for it to happen automatically.
