Deep water formation is declining around Antarctica much more than in the North Atlantic

e.g. at the Weddel sea it declined some 30% since the 90s.

The decline had been caused by a 40% reduction in sea ice formation rate and atmospheric forcing - preconditioning of recent sea ice loss?
