Town Planner and Geographer (MRTPI)
I used to work at NASA - planning IS harder than rocket science.
We can do better.
Yeah, yeah. All that, but this is what I've been waiting for!

Fun with words. Not often I get to learn 4 new English words from one page!

Bushellage, Lastage, Ballasing, Metage,

Want to make sure house price inflation continues, and people can pay over the odds?
Help to buy on new builds is the answer.
Want to fix broken system? Needs system rethink - Supply Side answers, not demand side.

Clearly Cons and Refrm think austerity was fine - guess they assume public happy to take care of themselves for eg healthcare, education, dentistry etc... (cause it's NEVER cuts for well off boomers - heaven forfend the Torygraph readers might have to contribute something).

Redit discussion on flag shagging neighbours impacting house sale/price is very very lively
100s comments, fairly unanimous that England Flag Flyers are a red flag
'Course flag flyers may be flying to discourage anyone other than right wing (other than white) buying in as neighbours?

So that's Surrey done. Still greenbelt intense, but perhaps a bit less of the exceptionalism will be apparent in future local plans.

👀If found somewhere Jenrick and Pochin might be comfortable. Actually, almost any planning objection meeting outside inner city will be almost exclusively white and well-housed.

Odd that been reports this result only while on same day there were as many libdems elected, some amazing green turnouts and the real story the collapse of Tory vote
I'd trust @electionmaps.uk for news

Flower Power defined the vietnam protests. Kent State showed how ugly it can get.

I suspect those joining ICE didn't read history (or science or much of anything).

Thanks - followed the link... No doubt pops Jenrick had moved on from his first accounting job at AEI before the signifiant SCANDAL in the merger, but wondering if pops learned creative accounting to pass on?

Somthing interesting in todays YouGov "daily questions":

Random sample, but note the reform reluctance (reformers come out strong on "they should continue to serve their term")
September 16, 2025 at 4:24 PM
Oh, now I see. When someone not right-wing-greedy-for-generations does estate planning it's guilty, guilty, guilty of hypocrisy;
When true blue torys do it it's good accounting advice.

Deadline extended on the decent home standard consutlation - TOMORROW deadline
1p: rentier class responding stongly it's too costly to provide decent homes for tenants
2p: More positive housing action from govt; shouting from left in opposition doesn't make positive change

And in today's least surpsing poll result...
Reform/Tory come out strong for the rentier class.

"earned income" vs "unearned income" is common parlance & key to tax code in US; we need public conciousness that collecting rent / playing markets is not earning a living - it's extracting one.

I'll keep saying it - THIS is one key map of subnational areas we should consider in planning
