while I’m being cranky, access journalism needs to go. When the president does his “I’m alpha because I insulted you” thing somebody needs to fall on his sword and say “what the fuck is wrong with you, old man?” on a hot mic. the hero of the wizard of Oz is Toto.

Did a Meyers Briggs test for work and it explained so much. That's why all I wanted to do in Tongiaki was sail, @kentmbeeson.bsky.social - it's my personality type. I'm just drawn that way! ENTP for the win.

@greatbritishmenu.bsky.social y'all really need to look at your safeguarding practices. There were some serious odd imbalances this season. 🙁

Back with a picture of a river meeting a sea to get attention & remind us all that resistance matters and solidarity is key.

For those wondering why Trump is spouting Putin's talking points regarding Ukraine/Zelensky:

1) Trump is utterly in awe/thrall of Putin & has been for years

2) He's a fascist and feels an affinity with dictators & 'strong men'

3) He thinks Zelensky was mean to him & he has no emotional control

The battle of our day is no longer about Democrats versus Republicans or left versus right.

The choice right now is democracy or dictatorship. And we're sliding faster than I ever thought possible into the latter.

Everyone must choose which side they’re on. Now.

Jerry Lawson invented the video game cartridge. He's the reason they stopped making pong consoles in the 1970s. If it weren't for him, the Atari 2600 and many others would literally NEVER exist at all.
Nintendo, Atari, & Sega happened because of him, Jerry Lawson. #BlackHistory

If you want help processing our current reality through a fictional lens, I highly recommend @chriskempshall.bsky.social's The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.

A history of the main Star Wars stories, written by an in-universe historian, focusing on the franchise's fascism & totalitarianism.

A morning at the sea is good for anyone engaging with this world. This is Cullercoats Bay. It's a 2 minute walk from ours.

This is called Table Rock. It's also at the bottom of our road. It was heavily used as a pool in the early-mid 20th C. In summer folks still use it.
