And of course, the one guy Arte Moreno chose to leave at the negotiation table was Shohei Ohtani.

As an Angels fan in exile, I will f cking hate you forever, Arte, along with the vulgar, deranged faction of that fanbase that continues to demonize Ohtani after you refused to extend him

Pujols, Hamilton, Trout after his big contract signing, Rendon, Matthews Jr., etc...all cheeks after given the bag. Moreno, sell the team to a homegrown and leave. You did your best and failed. It's ok. It's better than a McCourt ending.

Shohei Ohtani just won his 2nd consecutive NL MVP award by unanimous vote, bringing his total to four & counting... ('21, '23, '24, & '25).

For my money, he really should've had 5 MVPs & the historical record will recognize how right AP reporter Greg Beacham & Athletic reporter Sam Blum were in '22

A tradition unlike any other.

Shohei Ohtani has hit 231 home runs in the last 5 years and struck out a total of 604 batters while doing it. 😮

Babe Ruth never once struck out more than 3 batters in a season that he hit 30+ homers. Seriously.

Stop saying "since Babe Ruth". Shohei is one of a kind.

The Orioles are the first team to have a walk-off win in four of five games since the Nationals, who did it five times in six games from 8/16/14-8/21/14

The Orioles/Browns franchise had done this twice before:

6/23/1954 - 6/27/1954
7/02/1945 - 7/05/1945

Given measurement error, Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge (throw in Cal Raleigh in there as well) basically sit atop the rest of MLB in fWAR standings.

Still crazy to me that even with the DH penalty, Ohtani's production is so prolific that he always ends up right where he belongs.

I still remember how Japanese fans adopted Andrew Heaney as a fan favorite way back in 2018 because he was so kind to Shohei, and was really his first ever "American" friend.
