Da hab ich auch eine Anekdote: Habe mich einst fürs Jusstudium eingeschrieben, nachdem ich bereits einen technischen MSc hatte. Ich musste kein Latein nachweisen, da ich bereits ein abgeschlossenes Masterstudium hatte. Hatte nie eine Stunde Latein in meinem Leben. Pure Farce die ganze Diskussion.
Widerstand gegen Streichungen von Lateinstunden. War so klar. Leute bitte. Ich hab das 6 Jahre durchgemacht. Dann was studiert, wofür man es angeblich braucht - nie hab ich es gebraucht. Nie! In der Zeit hätte ich gern was anderes gelernt. Spanisch zb.

Russland schießt die Ukraine vor den Augen der Welt weiter in eine humanitäre Katastrophe. Und die Welt schaut weiter zu. Die Unterstützung reicht angesichts des russischen Energieterrors bei Minusgraden nicht aus. Das müssen die Partner anerkennen und daraus Handlungen ableiten.

I never thought I'd see the day I draw up business continuity plans for the event of a geopolitical situation where all US services suddenly become unavailable in Europe. But here we are. I'm guessing (hoping!) every organization in Europe does (or has done) the same.

Einkauf am Rochusmarkt heute. Was man da so hört, von Händlern wie Kunden, wird die Senkung der MwSt. auf Grundnahrungsmittel als reine Farce, pure Bürokratie und wortwörtlich "Verarschung der Bevölkerung" gesehen. Im eignen Bekanntenkreis bisher auch kein Verständnis für die Maßnahme.

It's always GLS that never finds me at home to deliver a package, especially when I'm actually home all day. The "partner shop" is always stacked to the roof with packets. But I'm sure there is no kickback scheme going on with the delivery guys, right? Just a coincidence. Funny how that works.

Wenn die EU das jetzt nicht schafft, kann sie sich gleich selbst abschaffen. Wer nimmt uns dann noch ernst?
Gut, dass sich der Wiener Gemeinderat heute für Mercosur ausgesprochen hat. Freihandel bringt uns allen mehr Wohlstand. Es wäre für Europa so wichtig dieses Abkommen abzuschließen! Jetzt ist es höchst an der Zeit, dass auch Österreich die Position ändert und sich für das Abkommen einsetzt.
