The trick with Bay Area speak is it is 1984 Doublespeak.

"Innovation" (Something Andreesen says a lot) - Give me rent checks.

"Disruption" - (Something YCombinator says a lot) - Break the law

The framing is always i.e. good vs evil where they are the heroes, when actually villains.

Pushed today my patch series to add support for the ST7567 I2C display controller. Another monochrome LCD to use it as a terminal for my Linux embedded boards.

The war that Israel launched against Iran targets its nuclear program, which experts say could make an atomic weapon within months. Israel has its own secretive nuclear weapons program, one that it doesn’t publicly acknowledge but that, some experts believe, is also expanding. Here’s what to know.
As Israel Targets Iran’s Nuclear Program, It Has a Secret One of Its Own

Rest in Peace, Bill Atkinson.

Hard to overstate the massive influence Bill's work had over me, and the way we all use computers today.

From his work on the Macintosh, to HyperCard, Bill was a pioneer of merging art & technology.

it just seems super super weird to me that like half the dev community has somehow forgotten the fifty years of R&D spent trying to get a thing that responds at all reasonably to natural language input, or learns practically useful models of complex domains, and how that is now very visibly working.
