When hosts and panelists on Russian TV criticize Israel for not valuing human life and not abiding by UN resolutions, the sole pundit dares to point out that neither is Russia — only to be ridiculed and promptly silenced.

Both humanitarian and medical organisations working in Gaza have outlined that it is not possible for all civilians in northern Gaza to evacuate south, as Israel has repeatedly ordered them to do.

Russia shelled 118 Ukrainian localities in 24 hours, a level not seen since the beginning of 2023.
Let's talk every day about Russia's crimes against humanity.
Let's call on the Allies to act, without restriction.
Making Russia lose now is the decisive action.

Absolutely! Democratic leaders’ permissiveness, letting the big criminals get away with their crimes, breeds more trouble and crimes ahead. Agree: there is too much complacency!
In the 101st long-read on my strategy blog, I explore the various dimensions of the indifference of many international leaders/experts to the international law, analyze its origins & its devastating consequences.

As the U.S. and U.K. try to pressure Israel towards restraint behind closed doors, Canada ought to loudly and publicly call for a negotiated cease-fire. www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/arti...
Opinion: Ottawa’s incoherent position on Gaza must be replaced by principled clarity

This is a big difference between Eastern Europe and the West. EE knows that Russia's war is an acute national and international security problem. The West is used to thinking that wars are something that happens far away and to other people, so if they care about it then it's some form of charity.
For the West, most compelling reasons to help Ukr are strategic, not humanitarian. Ru shld be defeated bc it’s aggressive in Eu + seeks to undermine democracy/intl law. It’s smart to prioritize Ru defeat over less strategically imp crises. Emphasis on humanitarian aspect leads to hypocrisy charges.
