Shocked this isn't a Netflix thing, would go well with their Witcher and Airbender trainwrecks.

If you're looking for another wild, weird as hell shooter, I will once again recommend the free Source mod "Underhell".

It does not have a giant man boss fight, as only two chapters were released, but I'd imagine if it continued development we would've had two.

There's way too many examples in games/tv/etc that people's attention spans are more or less fine, or at least adaptable.

Oh yeah everyone's attention span is awful. If you put out an extremely complex elaborate barely-tutorialised text-heavy role-playing immersive sim RPG they'll all just go on tiktok. Oh shit everyone played it for two million hours each. Uhhhhhhhhhh

People adapt too, if their attention is shorter, they'll adapt if something actually hooks them.

When Elden Ring came out, so many devs openly guffawed at the fact it "broke the rule" of not treating your player like a small child and actually made an engaging game.

We all saw that Netflix shit about the spaghetti and we all collectively groaned and I thought we all knew it was bullshit!

but I guess a lot of you were going "Ugh, what a shame Netflix are totally correct in their damning assessment of humanity. I wish they weren't right that everyone sucks!"

TV Trek might be dead after the next in production show comes out, unfortunately, so this makes sense.

I remain baffled by the defenses from devs that "we just have to do this stuff", when games that don't do it release constantly and are still wildly successful.

Yep, it sucks. I'd be curious about how much of it is exec interference vs bad writers, as it's most likely a bit of both.

Doesn't matter ultimately, it's a bad assumption even if it's "true"; people are more than capable of adapting and paying attention if your thing is actually good.

Seeing a similar thing in TV/Film currently, characters will do things and then say exactly what they're doing, even when it is excruciatingly obvious.

(I know about the 2nd screen stuff, which is probably true to a degree but not for all)

They're pro-AI, so no.

I stand corrected, you're right.

Hate to break it to you but 10-67 doesn't mean a dead body.

Congrats! It looks nice!
