I absolutely refuse to take part in a politics where you are expected to lie for the greater good, where facts and evidence and reality play no part. I think that kind of shameless public lying, total disregard for the truth, is how we got where we are today. I think it’s death for liberalism.

I am a *lawyer who practices federal law.* Several times a week I see a headline that makes me think "there's no way the President can do that, right?" and I look into it and it turns out that maybe he can because Congress ceded some of its power in the What's the Worst That Could Happen Act of 1983

the american constitution does not deal in minutiae. it speaks in generalities with the aim of establishing a limited government of enumerated powers. it is an analytical mistake to treat textual ambiguities as license to ignore that intent or the stated intent of specific provisions. (3)
