hey uh hi apparently milos been stuck dealing with all this for almost a year alone now?
some of the people Milo knows now feel familiar to me so i think there is some kind of memory bleeding, but i dont think I've been here properly since we were in hospital in January

Pretty little Ophelia has hurt herself somehow and is now in jail on crate rest. I've poked all of her important bones and nothing is broken, so I suspect she played too hard with a big cat and has a sore bit.
If she isn't improved by Monday she will get a nice field trip to the vet!

It’s likely that this cat has a somatic mutation, which is not uncommon on red-based animals (cats, dogs, and horses all have somatic mutations more often with red-based coats) His non-somatic cells are XY, but the cells that have mutated picked up an extra X chromosome, expressing in small patches.

We got to meet the most unique little boy yesterday, he’s with our partner rescue. At first glance, he looks like a regular orange tabby. But take a closer look, & what seems like grease smudges is actually (drumroll)— small mixed tortoiseshell patches!! This little guy has 1:3000 XXY chromosomes.
